Free NFA/ATF Fire Investigation Training for PA Fire and Law Enforcement
Enhance Your Fire Investigation Skills
This free, two-day NFA/ATF Fire Investigation: First Responders (F-0770) course, led by NFA/ATF instructor Brian Markovchi, provides a foundational understanding of fire investigation practices for first responders.
What You’ll Learn:
Basics of fire chemistry
The role of first responders in fire suppression and investigation
Fire scene awareness and evidence preservation
Interviewing techniques and critical scene observations
The intersection of suppression, investigation, science, and law
This course is highly recommended for fire and emergency services personnel involved in initial fire response or preliminary origin and cause investigations. This training is also open to all state and local sworn police officers.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs): Available for fire and law enforcement agencies, as well as other relevant professionals.
Eligibility Requirements:
(Chief's signature is required to verify that the applicant meets the age, service time, and training prerequisites):
Minimum age of 18
At least five (5) years of active service
Completion of Essentials of Firefighting or equivalent
ICS-100 (Q0462) and ICS-200 (Q0463) training (available online through NFA)
