Thank you for your interest in serving your community as an EMT!
This program covers topics including patient assessment, cardiac arrest management, airway management, patient immobilization, diabetic emergencies, strokes and seizures, and information about the emergency response system. Students are required to attend all classes and lab sessions throughout the program to demonstrate their competency in numerous psychomotor skills, complete testing requirements, and prepare for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam to be certified.
Please complete the pre-registration to receive information regarding the Fisdap entrance exam required for all prospective EMT students. This registration does not guarantee a seat in the upcoming EMT course in Corry, PA.
Questions & Answers
The course fee is $350.00 per student.
Erie County residents who are affiliated with a volunteer fire company may be able to have the training fees covered by PA State Relief Association Funds. Contact your fire chief for more information.
Warren County residents may attend the course at no charge thanks to funding from the Warren County EMS Council.
You will receive an email following registration with a link and step-by-step instructions to complete the entrance exam. The exam must be completed by Jnauary 5, 2024.
Questions topics include math, medical terminology, anatomy & physiology, and biology. Students must correctly answer 80% of the questions in each of these categories to pass the exam.
The Fisdap EMT Entrance Exam also utilizes an adapted form of the General Scale of Self-Efficacy, a valid and reliable psychometric scale that assesses the ability to deal with new obstacles or setbacks. It also assesses the ability to respond to novel or difficult situations.
Applicants may take the Fisdap Entrance Exam twice. An NPRC representative will reach out via email if you need to test again. If you pass on the first attempt you will receive a course confirmation email by the next business day. Students cannot view their scores. NPRC staff monitor the exam site daily and update students as soon as possible.
To keep the test objective, NPRC staff only receive a score of pass or fail for each student.
